Born in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture in 1962.

He wandered around Australia while attending the Faculty of Engineering at Utsunomiya University. He started diving and photography. After working as an exclusive photographer for Marine Planning Co., Ltd. "Diving World", he became an independent and freelance photographer in 1989.

 

His books include "free", a photograph of the southern sea where the heart is relaxed, "dreams of whales-the days of the sea with Jacques Mayol" (co-authored), "aqua", "why sea lions laugh" and many more.

 

He is also active in various fields such as appearing on the radio, serializing magazines, and holding photo exhibitions. In 2008, he held a commemorative photo exhibition "Pacific Islands" at the Pacific Island Summit sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. He spends most of the year in different parts of the world shooting animals and nature.
