Andy Warhol
1928-1987

Andy Warhol was born on August 6, 1928 in McKee's Port, Pittsburgh, as the second son of three siblings.

His parents were immigrants from Czechoslovakia and his father was a miner. His real name is Andrew Warhora.

Shocked by Marilyn Monroe's death, he set up a new studio called "Factory" and produced works one after another like mass production. In addition to artists, actors, journalists, and hippies were constantly gathering there, and Warhol was hailed as a charismatic figure.

He has many publications such as photo books as well as prints.
In February 1987 he was hospitalized for gallbladder surgery.

On February 22, the same year, he died of a heart attack. It was too sudden and an unexpected end.
