Born November 6, 1907 in Paris.


He taught himself design and began drawing posters under Cassandre's guidance in 1935 with Cassandre's "Alliance Graphique." In 1949, when he was exhibiting a poster of Monsavon Soap at a two-person exhibition with Bernard Vilmo, he caught the eye of the company's president and was officially adopted, making his full-scale debut at the age of 41.

 

After that, he quickly gained a lot of fans and received requests from companies such as Air France, Michelin, Perrier, and Big. He has also received numerous requests from Japanese and American companies such as Suntory, Life and Dunlop. In 1979 he moved to the northwestern town of Truville in France.

 

He died in October 2002.
